Welcome to the PSLI

The mission of the PSLI is “To advance Leadership and Innovation in Public Safety through Education, Training, Research, and Technical Assistance.”

We offer leadership and management training through the following programs:

  • Administrative Officers Management Program (AOMP) - This fifteen-credit, twelve week program has graduated over 1,300 law enforcement officers representing 130 agencies in thirteen states and three countries since its inception in 1989. AOMP is recognized throughout the southeast as one of the finest programs of its kind in the country.
  • Law Enforcement Executive Program (LEEP) - This non credit, 20 day program over 6 months, is taught by our faculty, top law enforcement executives and partners with the Institute of Government at UNC-CH to to build proactive leadership among law enforcement executives, which will enable them to manage their most critical current and future challenges effectively.
  • Customized training - on site sessions or through distance means (internet, DVD) for police supervisors and managers to assist agencies with organizational development strategies.
